We posted an article here  back in June regarding the potential closure of Kilean Lodge and the movement of it’s beds to Hamilton.    Now the union representing workers at Maplecrest Village, also in Grimsby and a sister facility in Fort Erie are crying foul.

The Christian Labor Association of Canada alleges that the employer is cutting work hours, reducing these caregivers to part-time status and losing benefits as a result.  No doubt these would result in a lower level of care given to residents in these facilities.

An information picket will be set up this Saturday, September 23rd at Maplecrest Village from 1PM to 4PM.
