With temperatures finally climbing, if you feel a need to beat the heat… Town Hall is always a great place to do so during the week.  And this week will offer up quite a few opportunities to do so.

First up will be on Monday (June 18th) with a meeting of Council, starting at 7:00 PM:

  • Approval of contractor for required repairs to 133 Main St West (the James Willison Grout Nelles house, a designated heritage building) as per Property Standards Order. See the attached excellent article by Dorothy Turcotte, courtesy of the Grimsby Lincoln News, June 14.

  • And in timely form for an pre-election photo-op, Remy Fernandes, CEO of Grimsby Power Inc. will make a cheque presentation from Niagara Power Inc. to Council.

The following evening on Tuesday (June 19th) at 7:00 PM will be a Planning & Development Committee meeting, featuring a Public Meeting on “Section 37” Bonusing:

Section 37 Community Benefits – Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendment and Implementation Guidelines

As we posted earlier in this post linked here, residents should plan to attend this important public meeting on Section 37 Height and Density Bonusing.  Planning staff have included a report with their recommendation requesting Council’s approval of the policy document.

This is your opportunity to have your say and comments officially recorded on what the proposed guidelines are.  We encourage you to read through the document and bring forth your questions, comments and concerns to Town Staff and the Committee to address on the open floor.
