It was a rather long “Special Meeting” on Thursday evening where Council took up the matter of the proposed Century Condos downtown. It’s been a long r̶o̶a̶d̶ laneway since this development was first made public in 2018.
With Council not satisfied with what was brought forth at the August 17th regular meeting, it was sent back for more deliberations between the Town’s Planners and the developer, and presumably their legal teams. Thursday night saw a revised proposal that cut a few units from the last proposal and did some shuffling around to change parking numbers.Continue reading
After the previous Monday’s meeting failed to reach a decision on a “settlement agreement” for the proposed Century Condos, Council will be back in session tomorrow night at 5:30PM to decide if the slightly revised proposal is any better.
There has been some minor changes to the last offering but as per the Planning Department’s “Moving Forward” PowerPoint presentation for tomorrow night’s meeting… the “building form remains unchanged”.Continue reading

Monday’s meeting of Council marks the first “regular business” session for the new Council, but also the last meeting of Council for 2018. As such, the agenda is quite a mixed bag of goodies.

After a claimed “mistake” in posting the public notice sign for October 9th meeting on the proposed Century Condos project downtown, the makeup second public meeting for this development is being held this coming Tuesday, November 13th @ 7PM at Town Hall.
While the agenda was sparse, the air was dense as people waited with baited breaths to hear and speak to the updated report on the 4/5 storey Century Condos development downtown.
